LESMA STARTS TO OPERATE IN MADRID-BARAJAS AIRPORT

Today, Sunday 26 October, the Lesma Handling Group has started to operate in Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, and has done it successfully and with no incidents.

Ryanair, the Spanish and European industry leader, has once again chosen Lesma to manage and oversee its ramp operations and to take charge of passenger assistance and flight coordination services at Madrid airport from the beginning of this 2014 winter season.

At present, Ryanair operates an average of 38 daily flights from Madrid airport to a number of domestic and European destinations, with nine based aircrafts; and in 2015 it expects to carry about 5 million passengers at the said airport.

This is Lesma’s twenty-second airport. To do this, it has had to TUPE 164 people into its staff, as well as 147 more TUPEd by Ryanair, which are also managed by Lesma, and has invested over 3 million Euros in handling equipment.
